PRIMARY EYE CARE includes a comprehensive vision and eye health examination. This examination is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting glaucoma, cataracts, macular degneration and much more. In the adjacent picture, Dr. Barker is using a slit lamp to evaluate this patient's eye for the presence of corneal disease, cataracts, or infection.
Here at Advanced Family Eye Care we incorporate computerized echnology to assist the evaluation of spectacle prescriptions, corneal curvature, peripheral vision, intraocular pressure, and eye health. Computerized examination instruments are used to supplement rather than replace personalized care. While our examinations include tests for eye health diseases, we are also able to detect the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and the effects of many medications. A dilated pupil examination allows us to provide the best assessment of eye health. It is recommended for all new patients and on a scheduled basis thereafter

Dr. Assell is using a piece of equipment to evaluate retinal health for any abnormalities.
